Disciplinary Rules & Regulation for the students

 

1) Students are expected to maintain decorum in their behavior and habits at all times, be lifting the prestige of the college.

 

2) Students are also expected to dress up decently. Students should wear formal dress only showing dignity of profession. Boys should be in clean shave. Girls should tie hairs properly. All students must wear formal shoes as it is not only for showing decency but also provide protection while in laboratory or in clinics from contaminants.

 

3) Students are advised to attend all classes and to ensure that they maintain the attendance criteria (minimum 75%) which would be mandatory for appearing in any term end examination of the college. In case of deviation college empowered to detain the students from appearing in examination.

 

4) Participation of students in academic activities such as seminar / workshops / field visits is compulsory; non-participation without prior permission may adversely affect the student&lsquot;s internal assessment performance.

 

5) If a student absents himself/herself from the classes for seven consecutive working days without prior permission, his/her name may be struck off from the rolls.

 

6) During teaching hours students are not allowed to leave the college campus without written permission from the designated authority.

 

7) Students are prohibited from engaging in acts of intimidation, violence or abuse against any of the students, students from other streams, employee, staff and faculty members of the college instead students are expected to show sincere, decent and cordial attitude.

 

8) Student loitering in the campus is prohibited.

 

9) Use of cell phone is prohibited in the college building/hospital/ examination halls. Violation of this shall invite fine and arrest of the mobile phone.

 

10) Student should also not use computers, fax machines, phones or any other electronic equipment for harassment, criminal mischief, threat or for any other unlawful purpose. Chatting, watching movie and any kind of pornographic pictures on the local area network is banned.

 

11) Ragging is an inhuman act and is banned both inside & outside the campus. The honorable supreme court of India has taken serious cognizance of the offence of ragging and has issued strict directives for steps to ensure its elimination. (see details in Anti Ragging Policy).

 

 

Anti-Ragging Policy

Medical council of India vide section 33 of Indian Medical Council act, 1956 has made Prevention and prohibition of Ragging in Medical college/institutions regulations, 2009.

 

According to this regulation ‘Ragging’ is defined us under.

 

“Any conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of harassing, teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student. The conduct includes but is not restricted to any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher; exploiting the services of a fresher, or any other students for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students; any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students; any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person; any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, "vicarious or sadistic thrill from activity or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other students; any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.”

 

“Any act of physical or mental abuse (including bullying and exclusion) targeted at another student (fresher or otherwise) on the ground of colour, race, religion, caste, ethnicity, gender (including transgender), sexual orientation, appearance, nationality, regional origins, linguistic identity, place of birth, place of residence or economic background.”

 

Punishable ingredients of Ragging:-

• Abetment to ragging;

 

• Criminal conspiracy to rag;

 

• Unlawful assembly and rioting while ragging;

 

• Public nuisance created during ragging;

 

• Violation of decency and morals through ragging;

 

• Injury to body, causing hurt or grievous hurt;

 

• Wrongful restraint;

 

• Wrongful confinement;

 

• Use of criminal force;

 

• Assault as well as sexual offences or even unnatural offences;

 

• Extortion;

 

• Criminal trespass;

 

• Offences against property;

 

• Criminal intimidation;

 

• Attempts to commit any or all of the above mentioned offences against the victim(s);

 

• Physical or psychological humiliation.

 

• All other offences following from the definition of “Ragging”.

 

 If anyone found guilty of directly or indirectly involved or abetting in ragging he/she will be punished /rusticated/expelled/suspended from the institute and also liable to prosecution in terms of the honorable law under the prohibition of Ragging Act 1997. Ragging is now a crime and no one can feign ignorance of the law.

 

Anti-ragging committee has been constituted in the college and students are advised to report ragging or related activity immediately to any of the member.

 

12) Institute is also has Prevention of Gender harassment committee which works on the guidelines and norms laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme court in Vishakha and others Vs. State of Rajasthan and others (JT 1997 (7) SC 384) (Vishakha guidelines).

 

 

Hostel Rules & Regulations for the students

 

The following rules shall apply to all the students (boys/girls) residing in the college campus. Violation of any rule will make the student liable to disciplinary action including expulsion from the hostel and also from the college.

 

1) Hostel is like a home of the student in the campus and accordingly student should behave in a manner that brings credit to him/her and to the college.

 

2) Hostel facility is allowed only after submission of the prescribed hostel dues and other charges before the beginning of the academic session.

 

3) A student once admitted in the hostel will continue to be a hostel resident throughout the year unless otherwise debarred from hostel on disciplinary grounds.

 

4) Under normal circumstances student must vacate the hostel within six working days after completion of the course. In case room is not vacated or student absent for more than 10 days without prior permission the hostel authority can take possession of the room and shall not be responsible for loss of personal belongings or damage, if any.

 

5) In case of genuine necessity and prior permission hostel stay can be extended only up to one month with payment and not more than that.

 

6) Students will not be allowed to enter hostel after 08:30 p.m. This has to be strictly followed.

 

7) For hostel mess use timing is being fixed as per timings displayed on notice board in hostel. Students are expected to follow the timings. Do not waste foods. Take only that amount what you can finish. Wastage of food not only cost to institution but also to society and nation.

 

8) There is no provision for married accommodation for students.

 

9) A student shall reside in the allotted room and cannot change it on his/her own. However, under special circumstances a request for change of room on prescribed format can be entertained subject to the availability.

 

10) Students shall be required to make their room available whenever required for repair, maintenance and disinfections.

 

11) Students are advised to ensure that the furniture, fixtures and electrical items handed over to them in perfect condition. Any subsequent damage is to be got repaired or replaced by the occupants at their cost.

 

12) It is the responsibility of the student to safe guards all properties including furniture, fittings and different gadgets of the hostel and they should assist the hostel warden in ensuring proper use of facility.

 

13) The hostellers are responsible for safeguard of their belongings. They are advised not to keep large amounts of cash or valuable items in their room. The hostel authorities will not be responsible for any loss or theft.

 

14) Use of Electric appliances like Heater, high electric power consuming gadgets and cooking inside the room are strictly prohibited.

 

15) Students should be well dressed in the hostel also.

 

16) Students must not be involved directly or indirectly in fighting, gambling, anti- social activity, ragging, strike, pocketing and gheraos. Possession or consumption of alcoholic drink, intoxicating drug will be viewed as serious offence.

 

17) Student should not display obscene poster or calendar, wall writing or screening of obscene films/video shows etc in the room or anywhere in hostel.

 

18) Students should not transfer articles, room fittings and furniture from one room to another on their own.

 

19) Students should take their meals only in the dining space provided, taking meals in the room in not allowed.

 

20) On extra charges student may arrange the meals for their guest (Parents/relatives) from the mess with a written permission from the warden.

 

21) Common room /TV Room/ Reading room timing will be 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.only. TV Room can be opened under special circumstances only with prior information.

 

22) Guest/visitor or not allowed to enter/stay inside the hostel rooms.

 

23) A student must take written permission for leave of absence from the hostel warden, in prescribed proforma before leaving the station stating reason, period, destination and contact number and address during the absence period.

 

24) Meetings and parties are prohibited in the hostel rooms. Students are not allowed to keep power driven vehicles.

 

25) All students are to mandatorily mark/punch their attendance every day as prescribed timing.

 

26) During the college time students are not allowed to stay in the hostel. Any unauthorized stay will call for disciplinary action and penalty.

 

27) Students who go out of the campus, do so on their own risk and responsibility, as it is presumed that they have suitably informed their parents regarding these whereabouts at all times.

 

28) Students having chronic communicable disease are not allowed to stay in the hostel.

 

29) Any student falling sick/ill should immediately inform the hostel warden. In case of emergency fellow students may shift the sick student immediately to the hospital and inform the authorities at the earliest.

 

30) Smoking, chewing pan, pan-masala, gutkha, gambling, consumption of alcoholic drink, hallucinogenic drug and other illegal substances or possession of these substances anywhere in the hostel premises is strictly forbidden.

 

31) The hostel rooms are subject to inspection by college authorities to make sure that they are kept neat & tidy and no unauthorized item kept in room.

 

32) Any hostel student harboring any unauthorized person of suspicious character will be liable for suspension/expulsion from the college.

 

33) College is taking care of safety & security of the students however if anyone observes any laxity or compromising state immediately report to the hostel warden.

 

34) Playing of music or videos with loud sounds which causes disturbances to the inmates is strictly prohibited.

 

35) Birthday parties or any kind of celebration should be in common room only up to 10.30 p.m. strictly

 

36) Inmates should not carry fire crackers on any occasion inside the hostel rooms or within the premises of the hostel failing which any individual/group of students will be debarred from the college and hostel itself.

 

37) All complain regarding electrical/plumbing/carpentering should be given in writing to the warden.

 

38) All hostellers must abide by the rules & regulation of the hostel as may be framed from time to time.

 

 

Library Rules & Regulations for the students

Every student of the college has access to the college library. Students have to observe the following rules.

 

1) Entry to the library is through identity card provided by institute only.

 

2) Use of cell phone is prohibited in the library.

 

3) Students are not allowed to bring their personal books/ valuable belongings in the library, they can use the outside reading room for that purpose. Library staff will not be responsible for any loss.

 

4) Library is a place to read, write and learn, requiring absolute silence and peace. Anyone violating this will be fined and debarred from entry into the library.

 

5) Students should follow the instruction of library staff & cooperate with them for better quality services.

 

6) Internet facility is available for furtherance of academic pursuits. Browsing pornographic sites, internet chatting etc is serious offences and will invite punishment in form of fine or suspension.

 

7) All items taken into and out of library are subject to security check.

 

8) Reader shall not mutilate or deface or write anything on the books, other sources of study or the furniture.

 

9) Students are expected not to miss their classes for visiting the library. Any student found in the library during teaching hours is liable to be punished.

 

10) Library fines are to be collected by the librarian, in case of any grievances student may approach the principal whose decision will be final.

 

11) Smoking, chewing pan & spitting, eating food, sleeping or any behaviors liable to disturb other readers or break discipline of library is strictly prohibited.

 

12) Students can suggest standard books/journals for procurement to the librarian in written application with name & signature.

 

All the rule and regulations may be altered or amended from time to time and shall be effective and binding to all students from the date of amendment.
