Dr. Sandhya Pranjal Manjrekar is a distinguished anaesthesiologist with over 38 years of service in government medical colleges across Maharashtra. She earned her MBBS and MD in Anaesthesiology from Government Medical College, Nagpur (Nagpur University), and began her academic career there as an Assistant Professor in 1982. Over the years, she progressed through roles as Associate Professor, Professor, and Head of Department at multiple institutions.
Her career spans both premier tertiary care centers in Mumbai and rural medical colleges such as Ambejogai, giving her a rare blend of superspecialty expertise and experience in resource-limited healthcare settings. Clinically, she has worked across nearly all specialties and superspecialties, managing high-acuity cases and complex perioperative care with exceptional proficiency. She was instrumental in establishing a state-of-the-art Surgical ICU at IGGMC, Nagpur.
Administratively, Dr. Manjrekar has held key leadership positions, including Medical Superintendent of IGGMC, Nagpur, where she oversaw major infrastructure development projects for both the college and hospital—from planning through execution. Her expertise spans departmental management, policy formulation, hospital operations, and interdepartmental coordination. A dedicated academician, she has nearly two decades of postgraduate teaching experience, has organized many academic workshops and conferences, and is the Founder President of the Yavatmal City Branch of ISA in Maharashtra.
